Erythema migrans: it's not always a bulls-eye

The Lyme disease give-away is typically considered to be the development of a bulls-eye rash called erythema migrans.  The presence of a true bulls-eye rash is one of the key diagnostic signs but not everyone with Lyme disease gets the traditional bulls-eye rash, and not all erythema migrans rashes present in this characteristic way.
